In celebration of International Women’s Day the Foundation are teaming up with Hertfordshire FA and Watford Ladies FC, putting on a Soccercise workshop at the University of Hertfordshire (Sports Hall 2) on Thursday 8th March, 7pm-8pm.

Soccercise combines a variety of fitness exercises with a football and the class is delivered to music and based on repetitions of specific exercises (e.g. – press ups, squats, sit ups etc). It can be tailored to all levels of fitness and can help introduce football, re-familiarise those who haven’t played for a while, form part of pre-season, be part of a warm up or just be used as an alternative way to keep fit.

The inclusion of footballs adds co-ordination and core stability to familiar exercises and builds skill and confidence of working with a football. Footballs will be provided and participants will need to come in comfortable clothing and trainers.

This is open to all our clubs and ideally any females that you may have that would like to come and try out Soccercise. This would be great to bring back into your club and potentially run a session for Mums during girls football week (23rd-29th April) as a potential get back into initiative. It is a great way to get fit in a fun environment.

This session will be run by Laura Dyer (Watford Ladies FC) and Dani Burge (Stevenage FC Foundation) and will give you an idea of what Soccercise is and how to run a session back at your club.
