Stevenage FC Foundation have teamed up with Watford FC Community Sport and Education Trust and Stevenage Borough Council to deliver a free weight management programme for men in Stevenage called Shape Up.

Shape Up is a FREE 12 week weight management course for men designed by Watford FC's Community Sports and Education Trust and funded by Public Health Herts. After the first 12 weeks there is an optional 12 week course that will continue to run at a cost.

The course is aimed at men aged 18 to 50-years-old with a BMI of 28 or over.

Based at The Nobel School (SG2 0HS) on Wednesdays, 7-9pm. Participants meet up weekly for a ninety minute session comprising of a forty five minute educational segment and a forty five minute physical activity session.

These two segments are delivered with the aim of improving participants healthy lifestyle knowledge to ensure a sustainable weight loss rather than the typically short term benefit of a diet based programme.

The next Shape Up programme starts on Wednesday 25th September.

Community Participation Manager, Lorna Wormald said:

We're delighted to be working with Watford FC Community & Education Trust to bring their hugely successfully Shape Up programme to Stevenage. It's a fantastic opportunity for two clubs to work together and build on the success that Watford have had with their own fans and local community and bring those same benefits to our doorstep.

Backed by local GPs, participants can get involved with Shape Up by signing up through their local surgery or simply contacting Rhys Ratcliffe at Watford FC CSET - click here or call 01923 496391.
