Stevenage Football Club Foundation are delighted to have been selected to deliver two FA SSE Wildcats Centres.

SSE Wildcats centres were first introduced in 2017 to address the finding that only 3% of all mini-soccer teams cater exclusively for girls and as such only 41% of girls (compared to 95% of boys) under the age of 10 regularly play football.

The SSE Wildcats centres are an opportunity for girls aged 5-11 to have fun, develop fundamental skills, try a variety of sessions and lay the foundations for a lifelong love of sport.

SSE Wildcats have already established 200 centres across the country and we are lucky enough to be one of the new delivery partners hoping to deliver a further 800 centres across England in 2018.

We are lucky enough to be teaming up with two local grassroots club in order to deliver the centres which will be based in Stevenage and Letchworth.

Hertfordshire FA’s Charter Standard Development Club of the Year, Bedwell Rangers will be supporting us with the Stevenage session, whilst Letchworth Garden City Eagles will be utilising their Ladies team in order to provide volunteers for our Letchworth session.

Starting in April, our Stevenage session will take place on a Saturday morning from 10-11am at Marriotts school and the Letchworth session will be held at the home of the Eagles, Pixmore playing fields on Wednesday evenings from 5-6pm.

More information on these sessions will be released closer to the start date so make sure you stay tuned.
