Two local sporting organisations are partnering up to give young people the chance to complete an apprenticeship with Stevenage Football Club Foundation as their first step into the working world.

Stevenage based Sporting Futures Training and Stevenage FC Foundation, the official charity of Stevenage FC, have teamed up to offer apprenticeship for young people to work for the Foundation, complete sports themed qualifications and help the charity achieve their objectives in the local community.

The Foundation delivers a variety of school and community based projects to provide people with the opportunity to realise their potential. These projects range from extra-curricular sports clubs to walking football to nationally funded programmes such as Premier League Kicks and EFL Trust +Sport Move & Learn.

Head of Foundation, Joe Goude said:

We’re delighted to be working with a local training provider with such a great track record in developing young people in a sport and education environment. After meeting with Jill and her team, it was clear that the two organisations share common values of wanting people to reach their potential and be the best they can be.

The Foundation is looking to create a viable pathway for young people to continue their education in an exciting environment like a professional sports club charity and get the opportunity to give something back to their local community at the same time.

We are excited to get started and are looking forward to positive future.

Sporting Futures Training Director, Jill Eaton said:
