Inspired by the historic Tiger Woods comeback at Augusta last week, Stevenage FC Foundation are today announcing their own comeback with the return of their charity golf day in partnership with Mill Green Golf Club in Welwyn Garden City on Wednesday 18th September.

The fundraiser is being supported by Stevenage FC players and staff who will be involved in the day at the beginning of next season.

With 54 spaces available to the general public, businesses or other organisations. Entries can be made as individuals or in teams of three starting at just £45 per player which will include breakfast on arrival at 11:30am and a one course meal after the round where the SFC Foundation Golf Day Trophy will be presented to the winners.

Head of Foundation, Joe Goude is excited to see the event return:

“It’s been a couple of years now since the last golf day and it is great that we can bring it back into our calendar of events. In previous years the day has raised over £1,000 each year which has contributed to the work we’re doing in the community. This year we are hoping to raise funds to go directly to our Community Kitchen project, helping families make meal times fun again and cook healthy nutritious meals on a budget.

We’re delighted that former Stevenage FC General Manager, Bob Makin has agreed to coordinate the day for us as an avid golfer himself and he’s putting together a great day for people to come out and support such a great project. Each year it’s great to have the players and staff mixing with fans, local businesses and other community groups”.

The Stevenage FC Foundation Charity Golf Day is being supported by Stevenage FC and its players. As a result each 3 ball taking part in the day will receive an extra golfer in form of the Stevenage FC first team player or member of staff.

This year's event aims to raise money to support our Community Kitchen project, providing families with the chance to make meal times fun again and learn vital life skills.

Another great way to be involved in the day is by sponsoring one of the 18 holes at Mill Green Golf Club. This includes having the tee branded with your organisations promotional material and banners as well as the opportunity to have information in the clubhouse and be including in all the PR linked to the event before and after.

The fee to sponsor a hole is just £100.

Companies will also be able to have information about their organisation in the clubhouse to promote their business to other players and organisations that are present on the day.
