Get Fit With Soccercise

Nobel School will be the venue for our brand new Soccercise class delivered as part of our Premier League Girls programme. The fitness class can be tailored for all levels of fitness. It can help introduce you to football, re-familiarise those who haven’t played for a while, form part of a pre-season training programme, become part of a pre-match warm-up or just be used as an alternative way to keep fit. The inclusion of footballs adds co-ordination and core stability to familiar exercises. It builds skill and confidence of working with a football.

The first session starts on Tuesday 2nd October, 8pm – 9pm at the Nobel School dance studio and is just £2 per session!

Footballs are provided, and you don’t need specialised kit just trainers and comfortable clothing.

Summer Of A Lifetime For NCS Grads

Throughout the summer holidays, the Foundation ran our annual National Citizen Service (NCS) programme for young people aged 15-17 from across Stevenage.

This summer was our biggest EVER with 135 young people taking part in the programme, as part of three waves of NCS. Completing a week at an outbound centre in Norfolk, followed by a week of University style living at Colchester University and finishing with a social action project back in Stevenage to support local causes and give back to their community.

Across all the social action projects, a total of £3,615 was raised for local charities including Stevenage Haven, Mind, Herts Young Homeless, Garden House Hospice and more.

To celebrate the programme, the Foundation threw a graduation party at the Holiday Inn in the town with special guests including Dino Maamria as well as Deputy Fashion Editor of the Sunday Mirror and former JHN student, Michelle Darlow, who spoke about the importance of following your dreams and using NCS as a platform for their future.

Project Officer, Dani Burge said “It’s been an amazing summer and unbelievable to think that we’ve taken our biggest NCS programme ever and it has been such a success. I want to say a big thank you to all of the 20+ staff that have supported the young people to have the best time and thank the young people themselves for making this summer so memorable. I hope they use the NCS experience to continue to support their local community and go on to great things in the future.”

NCS is back in October half term, if you’re interested in taking part please email [email protected]

Back To School

With the summer holidays now officially over, we turn our attention to our 30+ partner schools that we’ll be working with over the next year to get children more active and using sport to help them tackle key subjects like numeracy and literacy.

We have a variety of ways schools and your child can get involved. Our most popular activity is our After-School Clubs, delivered at a range of primary schools for just £3.50 per child per week for an hour of sport (not just football!) and physical activity to keep your child healthy and active.
