Busy Summer At The Foundation

It has been an incredibly busy summer at the Foundation, as the “close season” for the football club tends to be the business end of the Foundation’s year. As well as the culmination of the school year and our work in over 30 local primary schools, we’ve seen our Active Tots programme go out into the parks of Stevenage (Ridlins, Hampson, St Nicks) allowing people to access our popular tots’ session at a variety of venues.

We’ve gone live with our Summer Soccer Schools (see below) and are back in Welwyn and Hatfield for Play Rangers 2018. Speaking of Welwyn, on Friday 27th July we launched our new Premier League Kicks session at Gosling Sports Park in the town. The session is for 14-17 year olds and runs from 8-10pm every Friday night, two hours of football for just £1!

It also wouldn’t be the summer without our annual National Citizen Service programme! This year is our largest ever with 152 young people aged 16-17 who over 6 weeks will be enjoying the summer of a lifetime, learning new skills, making new friends and giving back to their community through social action plans.

Our work at the Foundation is non-stop and this coming season is another exciting year with new projects going live and branching into new areas to ensure we are engaging with our community on all levels, week in week out.
