John Warner Win Foundation Girls Cup

On Friday 24th November, 11 teams took part in the annual Stevenage FC Foundation Girls Cup that acts as a qualifier for the EFL Trust Girls Cup, a national competition. The U13s competition took place at Stevenage FC Academy with Stevenage Ladies first team player, Chloe Gunn popping along to see the action.

Gunn said “It’s great to see so many young girls getting involved with football, there was a lot of talent on show today and it was a very competitive tournament, which was great to see. I thoroughly enjoyed watching the games and talking to the girls”.

John Warner School (Hoddesdon) will now go on to the area final at Luton Town FC at the end of February. After beating Priory School (Hitchin) 3-2 in the final.

SFCF Back Hertfordshire’s Year of Physical Activity

The Foundation will be supporting Hertfordshire’s Year of Physical Activity in 2018 and will see a number of organisations from both in, and out of the sporting arena working together in support of making Hertfordshire THE most active county.

The campaign will be driven by Hertfordshire County Council and the Herts Sports Partnership, and informally known as Herts YOPA. Over the coming months we will be promoting our active programmes via the #HertsYOPA18 hashtag.

Futsal Kickabout Heading To Nobel

Working in partnership with Hertfordshire FA, the Foundation are looking to launch a brand-new Futsal session early in the New Year.

Futsal is a variant of association football that is not far similar to 5-a-side football. Futsal is a fast-paced game, played indoors and places an emphasis on ball control and technical skill. Recognised by FIFA and UEFA, and growing at a rapid rate across the globe we are excited to be putting plans into place to launch Futsal into our community programme.

We will be looking to deliver from Nobel School in Stevenage, targeting boys and girls aged 14+. If you’re interested, please contact [email protected]

Matchday & Mascot Packages Available

For every home game, the Foundation and Stevenage FC offer matchday and mascot packages for children aged 5-12.

Matchday packages can include a one-hour coaching session at The Academy with Foundation coaches, followed by the chance to take a penalty on the hallowed Lamex turf, tickets in the West Stand to watch the match and a complimentary packed lunch for all children that attend.

These packages start at £15 per child and all bookings require a minimum of 10 children and maximum of 20 children per package.

Being a mascot is a great way to experience a VIP day at The Lamex. The mascot will get a unique look behind the scenes and meet all their heroes in the dressing room as well as warming up on the pitch before the game. Mascot packages are available for home and away games and include a packed lunch, complimentary tickets for the mascot and one adult with the option to purchase additional tickets for other family members and a Stevenage FC Foundation goodie bag.

To cap it all off, the mascot will walk out with the players at the beginning of the game and take part in the pre-match fair play handshake.

Mascot packages are available for all league home games for the 2017/18 season and are just £100!

If you’d like to find out more about the packages - click here - or alternatively please call 01438 223223 or email the Foundation via [email protected]
