Summer Of A Lifetime For NCS Young People

For the last four weeks, 56 young people from across Stevenage have been taking part in the National Citizen Service programme with the Foundation.

The young people have been taking on exciting challenges, learning new skills and making their mark in their local community by delivering social action projects across Stevenage. The group also received a special visit from Stevenage FC players Chris Day and NCS ambassador, Fraser Franks during week 3 of the programme.

The four teams have worked with mental health charity SANE, Herts Young Homeless, Willow Foundation and Featherstone Wood School to give something back to their local community.

The Foundation would like to thank local businesses who have kindly donated resources, raffle prizes and more to assist the young people with their projects. Our thanks go to Wilko Retail, B&M Bargains, Fit4Less Gym, Bedwell Community Centre, Victoria Court Care Home, Costa Coffee, Nandos, 360 Play, Hollywood Bowl, Game Stevenage.

Active Tots A Huge Success

Thanks to funding from Stevenage Borough Council, the Foundation have been delivering a weekly fun session for 2-4 year olds at Bedwell Community Centre every Wednesday.

Funded by the SoActive programme, the sessions will take place at Bedwell Community Centre (SG1 1NA) and are split between two 45-minute sessions, that children can take part in for just £1 per week!

From 10:00am till 10:45am children aged 2-3 years old will get the chance to enjoy fun games and activities to teach them fundamental skills for an active and healthy lifestyle. At 11am it is the turn of children aged 3-4 years old and coaches will focus on developing children's coordination, balance, ball-movement and confidence when taking part in sport.

Matchday & Mascot Packages Available

For every home game, the Foundation and Stevenage FC offer matchday and mascot packages for children aged 5-12.

Matchday packages can include a one-hour coaching session at The Academy with Foundation coaches, followed by the chance to take a penalty on the hallowed Lamex turf, tickets in the West Stand to watch the match and a complimentary packed lunch for all children that attend.

These packages start at £15 per child and all bookings require a minimum of 10 children and maximum of 20 children per package.

Being a mascot is a great way to experience a VIP day at The Lamex. The mascot will get a unique look behind the scenes and meet all their heroes in the dressing room as well as warming up on the pitch before the game. Mascot packages are available for home and away games and include a packed lunch, complimentary tickets for the mascot and one adult with the option to purchase additional tickets for other family members and a Stevenage FC Foundation goodie bag.

To cap it all off, the mascot will walk out with the players at the beginning of the game and take part in the pre-match fair play handshake.

Mascot packages are available for all league home games for the 2017/18 season and are just £100!

If you’d like to find out more about the packages you can - click here or please call 01438 223223 or email the Foundation via [email protected]
